Bing Page 1 – Steps
OK… so you probably got to this post from my last post titled: http://markbishop.net/2017/11/25/how-i-ranked-page-1-on-bing-for-mmo-keywords-in-weeks/
Either way, if you want your blog or site to show up quickly on Bing (& Yahoo) organically here is what I did.
So, how did I get page #1 on Bing so quickly?
Well I’d love to tell you there was some trick or loophole but the reality is I simply played by the rules 100% and did something I have always forgotten to do in the past.
Now if you’re anything like nearly every other marketer / blog owner online (including me) the goal is to rank at the top of Google. But Google SEO is tough… and they don’t have all the traffic (they have most – but not all).
Bing / Yahoo, although not as big as Google can still pull in some great ‘highly targeted traffic’ and getting to the top is pretty easy with good ‘Unique content’
What you need to do?
If you want your pages to be considered for indexing on Google you would naturally go to https://www.google.com/webmasters
Add your website URL, add the verification code to your header (on your site/blog) and submit a sitemap… you knew this right?
Most people know this, and most people do it… You do right?
But most people do not repeat those same (or very similar) steps over at Bing, and that’s a mistake.
Did you know that indexing your site with Bing gets you indexed on Yahoo search?
No?… well it does and you should start doing this todayGo to: https://www.bing.com/webmaster
Submit your site URL, add verification code and sitemap just like you would do with Google
And that’s it… the whole process happens in just the same way as it does on Google, no tricks required. If you are adding good ‘Keyword Targeted’ content and your site is indexed in Bing… your posts / pages will show up incredibly fast.
Obviously the whole thing depends on competition but having said that you can see that I am already ranking for some pretty heavyweight phrases on a site that has been indexed for only around one month.
Hope this post helps a little… Sure you will get the most traffic from Google. But traffic from Bing and Yahoo is great too and it’s free. Imagine what you could do in a less competitive niche – think about it 😉
